Fort Mill Retail
Two Fort Mill entrepreneurs have started a new retail business - "Made in the USA" wrist bands. Sales will help benefit small businesses and the U.S. armed forces. The bands are made in Texas, supporting American made things. There has been initial interest in the product and owners hope to increase this interest by media attention. Owners also own and operate a furniture store in Fort Mill.

Fort Mill Food Lion Closing
The Food Lion in Fort Mill is closing. 113 underperforming stores are being closed in the U.S., including the one in Fort Mill. Store closing will take place within 30 days. Food Lion wants to concentrate on its brand image where it already has a large share in the market. The closing should not have a large effect on Fort Mill retail as it was announced earlier in the week that Publix grocery store was to be opened.
