Buyer Attitude

Consumers attitude has reach its highest lever in more than four years. Optimism about the economy, job market, and income are the reason. Almost half of consumers believe the economy has improved. Consumer confidence is still very vulnerable, but hopefully this new found confidence will improve buyers perspective. Buyers are eager in York County to do deals.

Fort Mill Area Council Chamber of Commerce serves as the local office under the York County Regional Chamber of Commerce. The multi million dollar project will change health care in the For Mill area and bring in a large net income. The hospital would really boost retail and traffic through the Fort Mill area.

Charanda Mexican Grill is the newest restaurant to open in Fort Mill. Located in the new shopping center Pendleton Village off Highway 160. The restaurant has seen high praise in just two months of being open. Critics rave the great menu and the quality of food. Charana's has it's fair share of competition in Fort Mill, but it seems to be gaining market power. Charanda's in one of the anchors in Pendleton Village. Two Fort Mill entrepreneurs have started a new retail business - "Made in the USA" wrist bands. Sales will help benefit small businesses and the U.S. armed forces. The bands are made in Texas, supporting American made things. There has been initial interest in the product and owners hope to increase this interest by media attention. Owners also own and operate a furniture store in Fort Mill.

Fort Mill Food Lion Closing

The Food Lion in Fort Mill is closing. 113 underperforming stores are being closed in the U.S., including the one in Fort Mill. Store closing will take place within 30 days. Food Lion wants to concentrate on its brand image where it already has a large share in the market. The closing should not have a large effect on Fort Mill retail as it was announced earlier in the week that Publix grocery store was to be opened.
